State Senator Deanna Demuzio Named "Tax Villain of the Month"

SPRINGFIELD – Jim Tobin, President of National Taxpayers United of Illinois (NTUI), named State Senator Deanna Demuzio the “Tax Villain of the Month” at a press conference yesterday in Springfield, the Senators’ district. Tobin distributed “wanted flyers” for the tax villain that summarized how Demuzio earned the designation.

Fat-Cat Politicians Squeezing Taxpayers with Fat Taxes

“Today’s taxes are already oppressive, but things have truly gotten out of hand when research into the possibility of passing new taxes is funded by taxpayer dollars,” warns Jim Tobin, president of Taxpayers United of America.

Civic Federation Bites Illinois Taxpayers Again

The Civic Federation, described as “One of the state’s most prominent tax watchdog groups,” has called for the Illinois General Assembly to raise the state personal income tax rate a back-breaking 67% and the corporate income tax rate a job-killing 22% (from 7.3 to 8.9%). Not willing to stop there, they also call for additional taxes on retirees, smokers, and businesses.
