Jim’s footage was aired in Part Two of this Special Eyewitness Report on Gov. Blago’s gross misuse of the Illinois State Police, and his quote was featured on WLS-TV and WLS radio promotions for three days prior to that. Early last year and again this summer, we recommended that the state police be disbanded as part of our $5.4 billion State Budget Savings proposal. The Illinois state police are nothing but glorified keystone cops, a political force that duplicates service provided by local and federal law enforcement.
